Totoro!!  Awesome!!

I am not ashamed to say I have Totoro slippers, various plush including my favourite with a head that tilts back to reveal a secret compartment and even a tissue box cover.  I need some of these now, are they vinyl?

Yes vinyl. I couldn't find anything in the current shops but found these in a collectors' shop in Akihabara (along with a plush cat bus, some toilet seat covers, decks of cards, dice bags etc. No point travelling 8000 miles and coming back empty handed :D)

Good find that Paul. All the Ghibli gift shops (of which there are many) all have soft toys and not much of anything that is of 'use' for us  8)

Svennn, I think we need a picture  ;D

Nice, I really love all stuff Ghibli, I still have plastic Nausicaa kit I need to finish. Someone really needs to make some proper 28mm stuff of some of those movies, would love a 28mm Nausicaa or Mononoke.

Can't see that happening as he is very protective of his IP and a buying a license would be rather prohibitively costly.

Those look fantastic! Love me some Totoro too. Living in Central Fl, we buy things from the Japan store in Epcot. I don't remember seeing these. Probably just as well--I'd be too tempted to buy them!

When we visit Japan someday, I am going to need a shipping container to bring back everything! As you can see, I am a life-long train buff. So I would have tons of model train stuff, tons of Ghibli stuff, tons of Japanese Disney stuff (my other love), tons of other cool things. Sigh. I'll also need a second and third job to pay for everything.  lol

 :-* Love em.

Another Ghibli addict here.
I, (ahem), my 4 year old niece has a handful of Totoro plushes and a couple of weeble style hard plastic bits. Have a hard plastic 'cat bus' but sadly too small to be gameable.
