Captives in Stasis
« on: August 13, 2014, 09:00:17 PM »
See WIP thread here:  http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/56128-wip-possibly-cryogenic-captives-finished/

Lazren and Myrous (left and right, respectively) are the two most powerful graduates of the Terran PsiCollege in over a century, and were much-lauded and expected to do great things.  They set out in the TCC Cygnus en route to the mindgrove forests of Lazarus IV, there to interface with the life of the planet and and brainstorm Peace In Our Time.

That was before the Vathrii intercepted their ship in the Nightmare Voids of Barhost and mindstruck the entire ship's complement - Lazren and Myrous's bodies were never found.

Now they serve the Vathrii Empire, two organic nodes in the vast computer network controlling the Vathrii phase-gates between the stars.  Lazren took to stasis without complication, but Myrous still fights....

The piece is made to come apart into three pieces for a variety of configurations, depending on whether you want the frosted cryo chamber, the glass coffin, the storage bin, or the encased machine.  It was also my first attempt to paint to showcase level after having put down the brushes for an extended period and only slap-painting armies for six months before that.
You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

I'm looking for appropriate figures to use as their psionically projected avatars, yes.  Perhaps translucent clix figures would work.

Repainted and converted, plus the armor was psychically lifted from the minds of a captured Earthling and specially adapted for the invasion of the Milky Way.  A Vathrii's true form is much more shriveled, grey, and like but completely unlike a Color Out Of Space.  Also, I found a bunch of them in the discount bin at the FLGS and I don't read comics so I didn't know who it was.

A very clever idea that has been stored in the little grey cells for future theft.
