I have started some lanciarii, I have put these up before Adam's fine work on the belts gets covered up with the shield. The javelin quiver is based on the tombstone of Aurelius Mucinanus, a trainee lanciarius, although he is depicted with a small shield my lanciarii will have the large legionary oval. The quiver is made with Miliput with wire spears, a photo of a reenactor as the javelin tips covered with leather or cloth covers, I have added these to another figure for variety. Figures from A&A who have quite an extensive range, though one would not mind if Adam did more for Aventine

More when they are complete.

Really nice, Phil! Love the colour of the leather straps.

I've thought about adding the sacks of spear, too. I think Dr. Phil had some made up. Best, Simon

Thanks Simon, they are Vallejo Cavalry Brown highlighted with Vallejo Red Leather. Thats right he did, I remember now. I don't think he had any for sale like his Sassanid shields he had done though.
