I have started some lanciarii, I have put these up before Adam's fine work on the belts gets covered up with the shield. The javelin quiver is based on the tombstone of Aurelius Mucinanus, a trainee lanciarius, although he is depicted with a small shield my lanciarii will have the large legionary oval. The quiver is made with Miliput with wire spears, a photo of a reenactor as the javelin tips covered with leather or cloth covers, I have added these to another figure for variety. Figures from A&A who have quite an extensive range, though one would not mind if Adam did more for Aventine :) More when they are complete.

Really nice, Phil!  Love the colour of the leather straps.

I've thought about adding the sacks of spear, too.  I think Dr. Phil had some made up.  Best, Simon

Thanks Simon, they are Vallejo Cavalry Brown highlighted with Vallejo Red Leather. Thats right he did, I remember now.  I don't think he had any for sale like his Sassanid shields he had done though.
