So while there obviously are examples of superior Imperial fighters, they only came to be because of the computer games, and they have not played a major role in the rest of the expanded universe.

I'm not very familiar with anything besides the movies, but I don't really recall any stories from the viewpoint of a regular Imperial pilot/soldier besides the TIE games.

Actually, such a story might be interesting. An Imperial ace armed only with his stupendous skill mowing down scores of technically superior rebel fighters in his run-of-the-mill TIE...

I though Solo & Celchu avoided combat missions against the Rebels?
