...At the risk of defaulting to a much-overused term, it was Epic.

That word doesn't even begin to cover what I can see there :o :o :o :-* :-* :-*

Glad you like it!
"Primal"
I like that.  I might steal it for future discriptions.
I wonder who can name the most units (or origins of the models) from the table?  We've proably got almost a dozen different sources.

There's also a Tomahawk, Phalanx, Valkyrie... a Nexus walker from Kryomek... at least one walker from Airfix/Technolog (robogear), some Dust fliers/tanks/walkers... a proper broad mix :)

Nicely done, you're about 3/4 there!
 ;)

When folks ask I tell them that we bought whatever mecha models, toys and miniatures had a vaugely Battletech'ish aethetic, looked like they could be suitably 25/28mm and were also cheap.  What I don't always tell them is that we probably built our 28mm collection for the same price (possibly less) than it would have cost to buy the battletech minis in 6mm.

They are alot harder to transport though...

Imperial Knights invade Mech Attack City!
I just put up a gallery of a masive 40k Knight battle that "Wardens of The Maelstrom" played at Adepticon using my Mech Attack City layout.

I've got my issues with GW, but you can't begrudge them the impressiveness of these models, especially when they are as well-painted as the Wardens have done.

Lots more pics here...

....as well as shots of some 40k games that were played on the same terrain.

Thanks folks.  I'm not really  40k guy anymore.  But seeing this game did make me think for just a minute that "maybe what you're missing in your life is a big freaking 40k walker..."

Been a while since I did much with sci-fi gaming, but here goes.

Recently picked up this bucket of toy soldiers.

The figs, which are actually quite good sci-fi or near-future soldiers, are about 40mm sole to eyeline but my main interest is in the accessories which have alot of usefullness for 28mm wargaming.

Lots more pics and full review of the whole set here:
https://www.chicagoskirmishwargames.com/blog/2017/11/01/cheap-28mm-suitable-terrain-from-the-corps-elite/

More sci-fi gaming stuff coming soon as I attempt to clear the decks of a variety of accumulated in-process projects.

I made 8 destroyed mech markers recently.
Having Wrecked mech markers/parts is something my friend and I have been talking about doing ever since we started running 28mm "Mech Attack" conevention games 6 or so years ago.

We used a basic foil and sand mold method to cast parts of our mechs in plaster and I spent some extra time carving them to more recognizeable shapes and adding a bit of detail that the simple foil molds couldn't capture.  A few gears and plastic bits to suggest where limbs were broken off and a quick paintjob and they were ready for the table.

Full write-up and lots of pics here:

A few examples that Battletech and Macross/Robotech fans might recognize.

Cleared the desk/deck of a variety of little projects that have been half finished for far too long. A Camper, Rhinomen, 2 CAV's, 10mm and 28mm Cargo Pods and a WreckAge Biker.
