It really is a great deal.
The original box set was a phenomenal deal, at about half off the original MSRP. The current deal is even better as shown above.

To be fair, though, I think there are alot of folks who would pass right by the figs at MSRP. I like the figs quite alot, but I rarely spend that much, and to be honest if I were going to there's alot of competition and some really great competing sculpts at the $7-$8 per fig mark. It's likely I would have bought the boxed set at some point but the KS is what made me take the plunge.

All that said, the current price-per fig of the KS is $2.66, and if you figure in RAFM's usual $8 shipping cost for the boxed set, you end up with $2.13 per fig, for minis that IMHO are clearly worth at least double that! That's even cheaper than EM4, and those are smaller figs and much older sculpts.\

Now get out there and pledge!

Mad rush at the beginning, and another at the end may be common, but there's quite a fair stretch til he's more than a gleam in the eye. Still, I'm assuming your evil overlords are quite happy.
