"Beholder" class spybot

I've done a little guide to assembling these bots. How hard can it be to stick two haves together? My advice is don't use superglue. The instant bond it gives will mean you have no time to position the halves together. If you make a mistake with sugerglue and the halves don't match you will not get them apart for a second go! Here's my method.

1. After cleaning up the edges of the bots get some epoxy. I use this brand from poundland in the UK. Works great.



2. Score the bottom of each half with a needle or scalpel. Sand down any ridges this leaves.



3. Use blu tak to stick one half down onto a coin or something similar that will keep the bot level as the epoxy cures.



4. Mix the epoxy and spread the thinnest possible amount onto both halves. This has to be a super thin coating or else epoxy will seep out of the
sides. Even the thinnest amount will form a super strong bond. Once together you get a few minutes to possition the halves correctly and also have time to match the halves if you're gluing more than one bot.

Did you do the original design in a 3D/CAD program blackstone?

They were hand sculpted in two halves... nice and old school  haha

I couldn't be happier with the pair I received.  As soon as my daughter saw them, she said "you're going to use them to torture the princess...aren't you?".   I'm a bit perturbed her mind went there first, not to mention the fact that she knew exactly what I'm going to do with them.  I gotta watch that girl more closely...

I'm also quite proud that my 13yr old made the jump to "Old School"  Star Wars reference immediately.  I have trained her well in the Ways of the Force.
