Westeros for SAGA and CMON GOT, Black Plague and LOTR Moria
« on: October 08, 2014, 09:54:30 AM »
Hello,

So it is my turn to join the ranks of people recreating Westeros. ;)

My plan is to use this models for Saga games, but will try some other systems as well.

Have started with two Stark archers, don't now if they will be Warriors or Levi yet, so I plan to paint 8 of them, and after that 8 models with bills - all Stark from Perry's infantry box for WOTR.

Some pictures:

When I finish the bases they will look pretty decent in my humble opinion.

I have a question as well - how do you cover the plastic base of the models - just put some more sand or you level it up with Miliput or some other sculpting material? Any advice could help.

Nice start! As for the bases, I usually level them up with some cheap sculpting clay.

Looks good, I wonder what their battleboard looks like?

One option you might consider is a glue gun. The figures go down fast and the glue ends up smoothing down the "pitcher's mound" once you throw down sand.  I had a blog post about it with pics up here if you're interested.

Thank you both - for the good words and for the advices.

The board is tile from Dust Tactics core set - very handy when you try to make a decent picture. ;)

I have this:

But again, I have a question - how to preserve it from hardening, once I open the original package?

Regards,

Meto

Seal the bag with a clip, then put it open end first into another plastic bag , wrap that around the whole thing and clip that shut aswell, making sure there is as little air in the bag as possible.

I tough that the Hobbit range Wargs will do excellent dare wolves. But now they look to me a bit big. In the book I remember their dead mother was described with the size of a young elk? What do you think?

Hi,

My project is still going on. I have made some LOTR decors for my future games, as well as the first knight from the command group. He will lead my first point of Stark archers in battle. Need to make a banner for them as well.

Thank you both.  ;)

Here is another foot knight, I have ordered the new Perry box and soon will start them as well. He will lead my bill-men in battle.

Nice
