GW Rohirrim for Starks? absolutely! The lower tech armour fits perfectly with my minds eye of the Stark bannermen and men at arms. That is precisely what these are - with WOTR heads and arms on Rohirrim torsos and the joins masked by fur cloak trim.

And since the ranges are both Perry Twins designed, I am also having some success experimenting with cladding Rohirrim horses with Perry WOTR horse armour, saving the WOTR horses with their medieval harness for unarmoured poses, and substituting horses heads too...

Nice additions, they look great.

Style wise the riders of rohan will fit in nicely, and those are neat conversions sukhe_bator. My only concern would be the fragile horses who are only attached to the base by one leg- meaning most of mine have snapped and needed fiddly repairs, or have been replaced from other ranges.

The only problem I have is that my Rohan raiders are painted more than a decade ago (not very well). It's true also that the horses are a bit fragile but that's life in Westeros.  ;D
Didn't know that they are sclupted by Perrys and it makes perfect sence to me now joining them in my Stark army. Will look around for few more cheap unassembled ones. That will save me some paintig as well.

sukhe_bator your conversions are great. Hope to see them painted soon.

I agree the horse poses make them fragile. I have drilled out the hooves and inserted wire and used drilled plastic slabs to create additional attachment points
Amen to that, Devoted - I hope to see them painted soon too! Maybe next year

Are the Perry WOTR plastics and the LOTR ranges generally the same scale? In particular I'm considering putting a LOTR plastic head on a Perry build.

Some of the LOTR models are bigger and it all depends of which one you have chosen to use.  Some look well aside Perry WOTR models.

It seems to me the ones that work best are figures with bulkier builds and those with cloaks. There's a slight difference between the horse's heads but that could also be put down to the breed of horse

Is it just me or do some of the poses and the way they are lined up, just scream 'Zombie Musical!!!' ?  lol

Nice paintjobs too.

Cheers!

Ha ha, true - that's the way they stay in the box, but somehow the final result is dancing zombies. One of the fatties is doing Air guitar anyway. Thanks for the good words both of you. :D

I am done with two survivors - Samcon and Baldric, very nice models and joy to paint. Five more models and I will be waiting for the rest of the KS to arrive.
