Set my aggro table up yesterday first time in a. While to see what I've left to do for the main part just finishing stuff off then I've got a 30cm x 90cm section to do not sure what to pit on it thinking a railway line signal box and see if I can convert one of the available mdf trains to look like a 70s British rail car

There is always the TT Combat Metro Monorail.
https://ttcombat.com/collections/city-scenics/products/metro-monorail.
That might make a nice Underground train.

You would need to put together some bogies (or borrow them and the track from one of those "O" Gauge Christmas sets.

True, though you would have to add cabs for DMUs.

Was gonna go for this look using this carriage as a base I'm not a railway and won't be going for 100% accuracy but after looking at what's available  im thinking this is best option

You might be better off with a flat front EMUs like these:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_415
The suburban format doors on the Sarissa model is more like one of these:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_117

Of course, you might ask Sarissa if they can do a DMU for you.
