Hello from Vancouver B.C.
« on: August 31, 2008, 05:28:23 PM »
Peabody here,

Just a note to say hello and that I am glad to have found a forum that encompasses all of my gaming and hobby interests and that does so in such a classy and friendly manner!

When I have spare time I get to enjoy:
Painting 28mm miniatures (Pig Iron Productions Infantry are on my bench as I write this). Exploring scratch-building and kit-bashing plastic models for gaming.
And best of all I love hosting Call of Cthulhu games; bought the first edition of the game as soon as it became available in Vancouver.

I look forward to getting to know some of you over the next few months, and learning as much as I can from the incredible resource that this forum represents!

Cheers!
Peabody

Sorry to disappoint you but I hate hockey!  :o  Can't escape the blasted game - it's SUMMER, for Pete's sake! Just wish Mats Sundin would make up his bleedin' mind whether he's going to play next season or not.  Enough, already!

I played Hockey for my house* and for the school. We never lost.

Though what you call Hockey we call Ice Hockey. The Hockey I played involved a ball and we wore studded boots, not skates. Not as violent as the iced variety, but less protection too, and I still have a lump on my forehead that testifies to it not being a totally genteel pastime.

Welcome aboard, Mr. Peabody.

*I don't know if you foreign types have those. You know, like in Harry Potter. A magic hat tells you which one you are in when you first go to the school.

I’m Canadian too and I don’t really like Hockey either! What are the odds that’s something like this happen on a Wargaming Forum?!?  lol

I hate ice hockey too. Detest it. Being essentially both a Swede and a Finn (now also officially - got dual citizenship two weeks ago) I've kept being told by both parties that I'm a traitor if I root for the other team. No fun. Now I can't get far enough away from the damn sport.

EDIT: Forgot to add: Welcome!

Thanks folks for the warm welcome. It's great to see some fellow Canadians here, especially another Vancouverite! Salut aussi Calimero! J'ai vecu dix ans a Montreal, elle me manques b'coup! But that was back in the 80's and early 90's; some years ago now.

Since then I've spent some time in Singapore and even half a year in New Zealand. So I quite like the world, just don't have much option to travel it as much I would like to anymore.

Perhaps a few of us will have the chance to roll some dice together at some point in the future...
