cthulhu at the Tactica
« on: August 31, 2008, 09:36:37 PM »
Hi all ,
A few of you will remember my workbench at the Lost World Table for the Hamburg Tactica show what I post here at the Forum these and last year .
So now it is time for a new project for the tactica next year.
I think a long time and my favour plan was to make a Alien vs Predator vs Marine Table whit lot of electronics,LED and sound stuff.
But after a checking my monny bag I have to hold off the Plan.
Then I came up with the Idea of a WWW2 Bunker assult but makeing Nazi Zombies on a german Tabletop convention present buy a tattooed bald head guy can be also a problem . ;)
Then I see the fantastic KKBB figures and I believe that can be the answer but checking he prices of the figures waist my Idea.

The Time gos buy and after a few weeks I begin dreaming of tentacled monsters ,ancied citys underwater and fishstinking towns.

the Idea of a Innsouth board was born.

So in these topic I will tell you how I will make the gaming boards ,paint the figures and create scenario´s.

The gameing rules I will use are  the 45 adventure rules and I will make 4 boards of 60x60 cm .
The boards will be
-The Gilman House. A hotel in Innsmouth
-The Hall of Esoteric Order of Dagon
-The port of Innsmouth
-The Devil's Reef

the figures I will use are
Brigade seamens (mercant crew)

That last one is fantastic.  I've always been a fan of the painting on which it's based.  In fact, it's framed and mounted on the wall in my son's room.  He'd be pretty freaked out to wake up one night and find this one there instead.   :o

Great news, Grimm! I'm looking forward to your mini-campaign - another reason to return to Hamburg after a two years' break. Already copied your "several boards - one campaign"-idea for my own presentation (should be ready in 2010  ::) ). Sadly I can't contribute to your setup now, maybe later. Please keep it coming - soon!

PS: Just wondering, why is this girl on the first pic undressed? No objections, but...? o_o

Concerning support: sent you something today you might use for that project through the post, so keep an eye on your postbox ...

Lots of really good potential with this one. I hope you have a Cthulhu, since if the cultists manage to get their summoning done, he should make an appearance.  :o

Ok what is the Story of the campaign ?

I will make the setting after the story of Lovecraft.
In ´´shadows of innsmouth`` the hero escape the horror ,half insane, he go to the police in Rowley and tell them everything .
Because of his story and the fact that a lot of normal people  get ´´Lost`` in Innsmouth over the last years the FBI was involved.

The FBI send a two man team to innsmouth to see what happens there .
They get to Innsmouth early on the  morning and stard to make a lot of    uncomfortably questions .
They learn that the people of innsmouth are very shyly and sometime bearish.
It was clear that they don´t whant to see the FBI in there town .

On the investigation the two agents meet a private eye a old lady (like Miss Marple)
She search for  a young clerk from the local First National grocery store who comes from neighbouring Arkham and work in the Innsmouth pinnacle .
He and his girlfrind from Innsmouth are  missing since a few weeks .

The agents and the private eye decide to work together and so they stumble over Zadok Allen the local drunk .
After a few drinks (!?!! FBI ?!!) Zadok tell them the same story like the guy from the Lovecraft story but the agents whant to see some evidence .
And so they decide to meet Zadok next day at the hall of the Esoteric Order of Dagon the local church.

At the night the hearos will sleep in the gilman house but like in the lovecraft story the Deep one cult attacks the heros ........

The first scenario will be ``the escape from the gilman house ``

Te house is in the middle of the board and the roof will be diminishable .
So it is posible to play in the gilman house.
The heros stard in 3 of the 5 rooms in the fist floor wile the rogues stard the game downstairs.
I will make the gilman house two storied not like in the story 5 storied .
I think it is better for the game play.
The hearos must escape from the board wile the villains try to attack them.

I will make the heros one grade 3 agent ,one grade one agent and a grade two private eye.
The villains stard with two grad one Brunos and one grad two character that will be
the driver from the story.
they will have more 1/2 grade mooks at a random time in the game.

In the first game there will be no monsters and only a few firearms .

I will use there figure for the private eye

I think she has also a little innsmouth look ,or not ?

So what do you think till now ??
what figures you will use for the agents ?
where can I get  figure with the innsmouth look for the driver ?

cheers Grimm

Sounds good so far.
For the agents, have a closer look at Copplestone's Gangsters. There are quite a few guys in trenchcoats and hats that could fit the bill. Or were the 1920's FBI cops uniformed?

Love those old Grenadier Deep Ones - I used to have a couple, really great big wet fihy eyes, plus that one wielding a club made of coral. Fantastic!
