No, just a scalpel and a steel ruler. I also cut them slightly different widths as it's an irregular effect I'm after.

Oh yes, I always do that on, purpose, as well  ::)

Looking good, I always love buildings that are a bit more of a diorama than just a block on the table.

Mr Sarcasm lives next door, eh?  ;D

Me too, but they also have the function of showing who occupies the building, if it's on the building base it's occupying. Always tricky with just the building alone.

A bit of fencing done

For gates, I tape down two pieces, build and then cut to size

Chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, etc.

All the fencing done, some unfinished Romanians for scale.  The planking is not truly to scale in width but it works.

Shorter fencing on one.

Throwing the first few coats of paint on.

Lovely job Phil.

Do the gates have hinges?

Thanks, not on this one as there's a bush going behind the gate, but here's some I made earlier...  ;)

Slapped some more paint on, the buildings are almost finished but not quite.

Also started a build, going for a wooden shack but again a versatile one for multi-period.

Filled with milliput to make it solid but also set square

Planking! Not as irregular as the fencing.

Roof timbers and ends of struts

Looking at casting this as is, and making two variants, one thatch and one tile/shingle.

Thanks Rob.

Almost finished them, they need a coat of matte varnish, and so there's still a few pieces of flock in the wrong places but you get the idea.

The scratch built shacks cast up nicely, so onto the roofing at some point...

Very nicely done. How many time do you swear and/or slice the tip of your finger?!

Ended up being approached by Rob at 2D6 about my new builds and some possible others, so I've sold them to him. Happy to see they got a very healthy write up: https://elenderilsblog.blogspot.com/2019/12/first-sight-2d6-anglo-saxon-buildings.html

Thanks chumrade!  :)

Built some sheds, and a chicken coup, not sure about the thatched one. These are off to Richard Novis of Perfect 6 to be cast in metal, can't wait to see them.

FINALLY got this little beauty finished... probably went a bit dark on the wash...  ::)
