Yeah, some of the guys on the 6mil FB groups seem to be doing better, although it might be a case of grass being greener, etc.

Thanks, the tower has slowed but is getting there, can't find my bleeding decals though...

Yeah agreed - not massively impressed.

I have a few colours I’d use on 6 or 15mm fully armoured minis. That’s about it.

I’m looking forward to seeing your tower progress!

Holy moly 6mmPhil!!

Fantastic stuff! Lovely paint job on them Bugs, good homage to the film!

Didn't know you had a thread. Brave taking on 6mm fantasy I had a go some years back but couldn't hack it, been tempted to do some 6mm sci fi but will wait until most of my 15mm is complete.

Yeah I'm gonna try the red on something else and see how it goes.

Thanks. Tbh I found it really easy, those Microworld mini's almost paint themselves...

The yellow and the ‘green’ that’s actually blue are very good for that purpose. I found the red a touch too strong.

I saw very little contrast with the red, but then again it's 6mil so the detail is a lot smaller and so is any contrast effect.

Haven't had a lot of free time but I did manage to finish these. I had great fun making them, each one is a pair of MDF bases, a piece of plumbing tube, a lid from an empty spice jar, clump foliage (home made) and some putty.

Seeing Gunbird's excellent work on https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=113566  inspired me to take a weekend off from casting to do some scenics.

I've got some Russian buildings which I'm going to try to do so they're suitable for WW2 and fantasy, so started with the bases.

There's one ruin and two, er... not, the "two not" will have vegetable rows, which I've done with a mix of milliput and lines of superglue gel with very fine sand sprinkled on them. Textures are liquid greenstuff and home made basetex (paint, glue, sand). These bases represent a 90x60 foot plot so need a lot of detailing.

Gun armed jet or helicopter.  Google "Chico the Gunfighter" to see where my inspiration came from many, many moons ago. Also my old profile pic was a machine gun wielding, sigar smoking black crow nose art. What feels ages ago now, I played a lot (and I mean a lot) of Operation Flashpoint in the day and I was always a support character. LMG or Grenadier were /are my preferred roles :)

And now you know ;)

I do indeed, makes me wish I had a time machine...  ;)

Coat of paint & varnish to bed everything down.

Fence posts and horizontals.  I build them long and snip to fit, much quicker. The two buildings to the left are from Total battle, the one on the right from Amphimods.
I got a few of the TB ones so the one in the middle has an extension and batons on the roof so it looks different from the others.

Cut some strips from .5mm styrene sheet. Much cheaper than using the ready bought strips.

I'm guessing you use a balsa stripper to get repeated same size lengths of 0.5mm?

No, just a scalpel and a steel ruler. I also cut them slightly different widths as it's an irregular effect I'm after.
