Mars Attacks horror show
« on: November 16, 2014, 08:14:08 PM »
I was very enthusiastic about the Mars Attcks game when it was announced, but alas, I must say the final product is not as great as I had hoped. Especially the helmets are freakishly poor and in the end I didn't really dedicate that much time to the figures but rather just tried to get them done.

I've chosen to set my game in the pseudo 60'ies.

Well. We'll see how it all goes.  :)

Edit: The first photo is taken with my phone but I'll sort a better one later.

Are the Americans standard issue?

what he said. I thought your martians look very fine.

I am a little surprised with your love of strange gaming you didn't go the martian boardgame option because it comes with a bear in a tutu.

I have been very close to buying the flying frog ones several times. I think the US import part is what's kept me off it.

They look like Bolt action plastics to me.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

The painting looks pretty ace, and I'm not a fan of Mars Attacks stuff at all.  Well done!  Shame about the helmets - did you glue them?  I see an opening for a third party to produce quality replacement helmets...

Mantic chose to use the warlord marine sprues rather than standard US infantry so the helmets are not standard, they are a camo covered/netted version.

Regardless of any issues regarding the miniatures, you have done a great job of painting those.

I don't think mantic sells them though
