1:48 scale Sd.Kfz 222
« on: September 03, 2008, 07:50:52 PM »
I haven't had much time this week for painting so I thought I'd finish a kit I've had sat around ( It's been base-coated for ages!! )
It's a 1:48 scale kit by ICM.
Pretty useless on the table-top but I like having some light vehicles aswell as the uber-armour!!

A size comparison with an Artizan Mini.

That's very nice. Is that an original cammo scheme? I like it anyway. 8)

Thanks for the comments.

The camo scheme started off as a "proper" one but I ended up doodling on it....... Still it's Weird War so the purists shouldn't be too upset!!!! :D

Looks good with the miniature, what about putting some legs on it for a walker?

Nice colourscheme. I was thinking about something similar for my vehicles, but couldn't quite nail it, so I've put if off, but this looks great.

Thanks Guys.

Postal: The kit only has two sprues plus the main body and chassis and some etched brass.
It went together really easily and with little ( if any) filing to get the parts to fit. It feels pretty robust although the little stub axles for the wheels are a little flimsy. I should imagine it will hold up to gaming pretty well!

Cool!

Just when I'd decided I had enough kits...One more won't hurt. :)

Well, since German units had wide latitude regarding how they painted their vehicles, it's actually not that far fetched.  It's pretty hard to say "that was never done" with the late-war German dark yellow/green/brown schemes. Somebody probably tried it somewhere....
