I have tried the MDF carving and thought everything looked fine before I started painting the board… so what's your secret color recipe???  :)

The answer cheap ass house paints!;-) I bought some tester pots from b&q.

Looking good, mate.

You are certainly making me consider playing around with some plastic rods etc when I finally get to working on my Asylum as your example shows just what can be achieved.
 :D

I don't know if anybody else does it this way, but if you break what ever your trying to do into the smallest constituent parts in yiur head and take it small bit at a time, eventually all the small parts make up your one whole item.

This is the finished HQ building for the board. I've yried to make it look more 'used' by putting rubbish on it....

I didn't know how to make trash cans. This is my attempt...

Exquisite, mate.
The building looks spot on and the addition of all the 'crap' will really make it pop.
The trash cans look great.

I was looking at what you have done and can see your processes.
Brilliant work.
A lot like sculpting then, mate.
 ;)

Looks really amazing! Thank you for the work in progress shots of the street inscribing - was curious, what tool you used to score the mdf and hardboard?

Having just done a shoddy job myself on something similar with a dremel, I'm impressed by the quality and consistency of the linework.

Cheers gents!

Zacharyw- I use these mate.

it's also maybe worth drawing your concrete pattern out first. Then its just a case of scoring those lines with the sculpting tool, repeatedly. Once there's a slight groove you can open that up by using both hands on the scuplting tool(you don't need the steel rule anymore, the grooves will guide you) to add a little more weight.

@Andym: Thanks for the clarification. I guess carefulness, patience, and diligence net better results than just going to town on MDF with a wild dremel!

Really great projects!

Christ Andy!! You are a one man construction machine!  :o

That staircase is superb. I guess you could use the table to run gangster games on too..
