Battle of the River Vorskla. 12 August 1399

The battle between the troops of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytautas and the Emir of the Golden Horde Idegey.

Battle interesting composition troops who opposed the Horde. It was the army, consisting, in addition to the Lithuanian contingent, of the regiments of Kiev, Smolensk, Rila, Volyn and other Western-Russian principalities. In addition, in the army joined Toktamysh Tatars, about a hundred crusaders of the Teutonic Order and four hundred warriors from Poland, who brought with them a few guns.
