Hey, cool!  Love the schemes on those X-COM ops.  You going to put together a force of EXALT operatives too?  Shouldn't be too hard to track down business suited dudes with big ol' guns.

Ajsalium:
Thanks for the picture, that's quite the interesting design. I'm always surprised to see how nice "simple" paper models look when done well.

Warren Abox:
Wasn't planning on it, but it's a good idea, especially for threeway scenarios Xcom Vs Aliens Vs Exalt. Though I found the idea of business suit wearing humans soaking up laser- and plasmashots quite silly when playing Enemy Within, should I decide to do some Exalt ops I think I'll go more for a geneticly modified alien-human hybrid look.

Nice painting on the Copplestone troopers and an innovative use of those Dreamforge plastics.

Looking forward to your next update :)

Careful where you go with your Dropship projects. They start out all innocent and fun and then they take over your life!

There is absolutely loads to love here, great execution of the X-Com idea.  Pulp Alley will be a good way to play out the scenarios too.  Im really looking forward to seeing this develop.

I'll be vigilant.

I think they are from Maxmini, called "Space-Cops" or something similar. One has a distinctive JudgeDredd-vibe.

cheetor:
Thanks, actually I got the idea of using Pulp Alley from the fantastic battle reports on your blog. And sure enough, the guys I play with liked the rules right away. So thanks for that as well ;)

Next up are some GW-lizards with guns. I painted them a while ago and realized while taking the pictures that they actually look sort of similar to the snakemen from UFO Defense.
They'll be used as the skirmishers and scouts of the alien invasion - fast and agile, but nothing Earth's finest grunts coudn't handle.

By the way, what's the best way to include pictures in the post without uploading them to an extern website first on this forum? I simply attach my pictures when writing a post, but that way they only show after whatever I've punched into the keyboard.

I'll echo the sentiment on the Titan armor - well done. And yes, those are MaxMini heads. Got some off eBay for my MERCS USCR. They are very clean with lots of character.

This is a great project. More please

Re: X-Com(-ish) Project - Skyranger done

The Skyranger is done!  :)

I managed to get a couple of things done over the holidays. Among them was aquiring a new camera. As I was rumaging around the livingroom, trying to make it look tidy for christmas eve, I stumbled upon a bag with things wrapped in packing foil. Out of simple curiosity I asked my dear girlfriend what was in it to which she replied: "Oh, nothing special, just the SLR-camera my uncle gave us in summer."
So yeah, apparently we have had an expensive Canon EOS lying around for half a year while I was trying to take pictures of my little toysoldiers with that cheap digital camera...

Not thatthe pictures were much better, I still have to improve the lighting.

Anyways, the Skyranger:
