Scratch built tower house with interior and curtain walls
« on: December 08, 2014, 04:22:44 AM »
Hi all,
It's been a while since I last posted...hope all of you are well!
I have been working on a series of towers and have added a "square" style to my lot.
This one was made using scrap packing styrofoam, card stock, foam board some thin hobby
wood for the floors and cut down chop sticks for the floor slider supports....craft paint and some time.

I still need to make the "metal" portcullis for in front of the gate doors, and split and hinge the gate doors as well as some steps to gain access to the wall walk...maybe
some wood planking for the wall walk as well but I figure it's pretty much done after that.
Let me know what y'all think!!...
Cheers,
Carl

Lovely idea and execution. Really impressed. Can meta miniatures sit on the stairs (I see a plastic one can)?

von Lucky...thanx...i think I made the stairs sloped at a slight angle, but I'll check and let ya know...
I admit I've been having way too much fun with these tower builds!

Hey Matt, thanx man....I did a little research on the old 12th century castles to understand that they did the interior whitewash to further the reflection of window light as far into the rooms as possible...I learned a whole passel of odd trivia!!
and yeah...DANGIT!!...I forgot to delete the mutt butt before i posted the pics!! lolz

Wow really? Cool trivia. Thanks.

I had to laugh because you obviously spent significant time cloning out your chair set and house... Only to leave that staring at me haha. I really don't mind and enjoy checking peoples backgrounds. I consider it an Easter egg ;)

Looks like you need some wooden structures inside the walls now such as a stable. :D

Cheers
Matt.

Brandlin!!...ya that's about the real time build....I have been following it little by little on the net...that is fantastic that they are building the place with the methods that would have been used 700 years or so ago!!..
I did not know though, it was a bbc television show...I will be searching for that!!
Thank you,

Matt!! lol Ikr?!!
Cheers,
Carl
