Wirelizard points you to the former Vendel Border Reivers, which are great figures. I have about 50 of them.

Graven Images also makes lovely ones:

Reiver Castings do a range of figures with mounted and dismounted versions of the same figures in some cases.
The figures on the website look a bit crude by modern standards but I think the castings are better than they appear and also offer a lot of variety as well.

I've used a mix of figures from various manufacturers which will pass for 1600 or so...
Check out my Lead Adventure galleries:

Elizabethans: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;su=user;cat=37;u=577

Here are a few of the ex-Vendel, now Sergeant-Major Miniatures figures:

The Graven Images figures are lovely, characterful miniatures. All I would say is that both stylistically and size-wise, they don't mix particularly well with figures from other manufacturers' ranges, being both a fair bit bigger / chunkier and quite distinctive in style. That may not bother you, of course :)

I fully agree. Nothing else can mixed with them.

Hello, Thanks for the suggestions and links, the Graven Images figures look rather good, are they much difference in size to other manufacturers?

There isn't any maker that will match them for size.
I went with Vendel with some Foundry Sea Dogs
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Being of a Reiver family myself it's a per of I've been looking into collecting for a while. My favourite models are definitely the Graven Image ones now available at Hoka Hey. It's a shame hey won't mix with other ranges. I had thought they might mix with Foundry Elizabethans. How about converted GW Empire militia? Any thoughts?

Rules wise I did check out a few of the free sets out, but Donnybrook also caught my eye.

Sorry to hijack the thread but Reiver blood is obviously thicker than water!

There might be some useful figures from The Assault Group and Warlord Games have announced plans to release some figures that could be suitable too.

Yes, the Assault Group English Tudor Borderers would be worth a look. I'm from a reiver family myself on my mother's side.
