Give em hell boys!
« on: December 29, 2014, 09:15:01 AM »
Hi

Ok well this is the game at last .
Cheers AL:

GETTYSBURG JULY 2ND LEE`S RIGHT HOOK

Looking up the wheat field road towards the emittsburg road

The `Devils Den` and the triangle

The `Devils Den` the triangle with the Timbers farm and Rose woods

Rose farm

Rose farm

The Timbers farm

Looking at the Wentz farm from Pitzers woods

Looking south down the Emittsburg road

The Wentz farm and the Peach Orchard

The Wheat Field

The Stoney Hill

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROBERTSON`s 3rd Ark and 1st Tx peel off towards Smith`s troublesome guns above the `Devils Den`

Smith`s guns take heavy casualties from counter battery fire

The 124th NY brace there selves

The 114thPa at the Wentz farm  listen worryingly to the sound of battle to there left rear?

GRAHAM checks his deployment in the `Peach Orchard`

ANDERSONS Georgians double quick into Rose Woods

Georgians cross the Rose Farm

SWEITZER and TILTON (VCORPS) as promised take up position on the `Stoney Hill`

ANDERSON crashes into DE TROBRIAND

Winslows battery shell the woods above BENNING`s advancing Georgians

The `Gun Line` connecting SWEITZER to GRAHAM

BIRNY inspects his Divisions positions

ROBERTSON now with support from BENNING pushes to take the end of `Houck Ridge`

LAW`s 44th Ala push up through the Saddle `The Slaughter Pen`

KERSHAW`s South Carolinians cross the corn field at the double

DE TROBRIAND`s Brigade collapses and fall back into `Trostle Woods`

The `Gun Line` start to engage KERSHAW

The Battery at the `Peach Orchard` fall back because of there open left flank.

KERSHAW attacks the `Gun Line`

Part of DE TROBRIAND`s Brigade starts to fall back through the `Wheat Field`

Wislow`s battery in the `Wheat field` gets some support from the 17th Me as CALDWELL`s Division starts to arrive and as the Rebs
make another push.

TILTON and SWEITZER`s lines collapse and retreat across the `Wheatfield` road

The line now unravelling causes Winslow`s battery to retire as CROSS KELLY and ZOOK prepare to advance.

ZOOK manages to stem the tide on the right flank in front of the `Stoney Hill` and CROSS also holds on the left flank `Houck Ridge`
but Kelly is routed in the centre.

The game finished there as the Confederate objective was to get troops onto the last three `Wheatfield road` boards and almost perfectly it was on the last turn of the day!!

CHEERS FOR LOOKING AND IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS  DON`T HESITATE TO ASK.

Beautiful. There were words, apparently. I'm going back to read them (if I don't get distracted again).

Unbelievable! I have visited the battlefield and this layout really helps my visualization of July 2 1863. I'll keep visiting this post for inspiration. The figures look great too. What material did you use to "grass" the boards - carpet? What rules did you use?

The boards are covered in teddy bear fur, its what I`m known for the most, from all the layouts I`ve created in the past.

Rules are Dave Bickley`s fast play.
