Sorry Nils I thought I had one's written up but not sure where they got to.  I will have to remedy that.

In the meantime you can check this out!!!

I got my new Heroquest board today!  The old board was good, but I really wanted a change up.  I love how it turned out.  I got all the images from various sources across the internet.  I then did a rough cut and paste jobs, then reskinned it with a comic book wash.  It turned out perfect, can't wait to get some games in on this.

The original OG triple trile OG

So my character Schmendrick as has had a long road of creation.  First he was Aldred the Fellblade.  Then Aldred the Fellcleaver, till I have finally settled on Schmendrick. First he was an Imperial Cavalry general, then he fell on hard times, and turned to banditry and other roguish behavior.  Now he seems to be on the upswing with a small band of followers.  He now clears dungeons throughout the Oldworld.

The picture the started it all.  From White Dwarf 125

This was the original figure that started it all.  I was going to make an empire cavalry general.  I wanted a terminator on a horse.  Here turned out perfect on his mighty steed Kringer.
This figure now sits on my admiring shelf.  I leave the real fighting to my footslogging Schmendricks.  From the Left:  The 2nd Schmendrick, the new chaos schmendrick, and of course my Rogue Trader/Space Hulk Schmendrick.

My new Skeleton army
Here we have my new skeleton general, and some accompanying swarms of bats.  The second picture is the army arrayed for battle ready to spring from their graves to bring ruin and despair among the scattered villages. Ha Ha Ha.  Ya it's still in the box.  I might actually have to play a game like this.....we will see. ;)

Rankin Woodenheart
Here we have a wee hobbit!  I picked this little guy up on a whim.  For some reason I am always drawn to halflings, and will find an excuse to paint one anytime.  It doesn't help that the Hobbit cartoon was one of my favorites growing up.

I went with a pretty simple scheme of brown, and foundry night sky triad.  All the swords in the Rankin Bass cartoons are always white or glowing.  So this little guy gets his glowing when spiders are around!

The fable of Rankin Woodenheart is known to all children of the wee folk. It is a tale of how one's curiosity can get you into trouble.  Rankin was a curious sort of halfling, who was always ranging far about the countryside.  One day he happened upon a sword and shield.

To test his mettle he decided to guard a patch of cabbage against a family of racoons. Swift and sharp was the combat.  Rankin was thoroughly flushed from the excitement, though he was glad he actually hadn't killed any of the racoons.  For his bravery he decided to paint a wooden heart on his shield to remind him that he had stood against many foes.  The tale of his bravery for saving the cabbage spread through out the village.

Then one day Rankin heard of another foe deep in the forest.  It was rumored that a giant spider had made it's home in the Briarwood.  Swelled with confidence and pride from his combat in the cabbage patch, Rankin decided to go investigate.

He gathered his gear, and set off at the crack of dawn....never to be seen again!

A ring of invisibility would come in real handy right about then.

I know right! ;)

This Grenadier barbarian was my orginal Heroquest hero a few years back.  He has now been retired in favor of Schmendrick.  We also have his barbarian bride from Foundry.

I thought I would show them off next to my Steve Dean barbarian that I won off Ebay.  I can't get enough of these Mark Copplestone Grenadier barbarians!

They are still available from various companies.  The most complete range is done by Mirliton miniatures out of Italy.

So I had been after the C23 Mutant Ogre for awhile now.  Well the wait is over.  Not only did I score 1 but 2!  I decided to bump my chaos armies troll unit up to 4 as any good Khorne player should.  I have also added a commander in the form of Serial Eve with her magical "Goonies Never Say Die" Banner. Which has been Chunk approved giving it 4 truffle shuffles out of 5!

I have decided to model these lovable guys off the Perry twins...So I give you the Pagan Twins; Axel and Meatloaf.
