Looking for a Mighty Joe Young (Gorilla) figure
« on: January 19, 2015, 10:08:12 PM »
Well, maybe not Joe Young, but a big gorilla, and I thought that you knowledgable folks might have some pointers.   I was looking for a figure about the size of a GW Dreadnaught.  I have the Giant Gor from Hundred Kingdoms, but I was thinking of a two legged stance, chest beating, fangs bared...and maybe something not metal.

Thank,

Synjin

There's this one by GCT Studios for their Bushido game:

But it doesn't really fit the bill too well, metal and wrong pose.

Not a great photo, but I've found Schleich plastic figures to work great for animals and dinosaurs...

Eric the shed just had that one posed next to a mini on his build something thread.
My Kong is a Schleich model gorilla (perhaps a little small) but a great model
Here he is against an unpainted 28mm figure

Hope that gives you some idea of scale.

I too am a big fan of Schliech figures...in fact, I recently posted up our most recent battle report, Victorian adventurers in a lost valley against giant Apes and Dinosaurs! Here's an excerpt with a pic of the Schleich Giant Ape!
