Great thread and great painting too. Really impressive.

Are you using these for small story driven skirmish games?

This most recent group are intended for Pulp Alley and Void Pirates games - I'm going to start a solo campaign, likely with pulp alley, once I've finished a few more bits (including some Space Dorfs eventually I hope!)

Very well painted little chaps, the white weapons and helmets give them a very retro-futuristic look. Will be interested to see how the solo campaign goes.

So how does solo play normally go? I haven't done it since I was about 12 or so. My own system was probably rather simple compared to modern ways of doing it.

Lovely work.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Pulp Alley have released a ruleset and a solo 'deck' for the cards you draw sometimes... better than simply making it up in a vacuum. Haven't tried the solo rules out yet other than glancing over them to get the gist. I'll post something up when I get the opportunity.

Same game we played Bergil using the star wars minis, when you had to get to the droids but the pair of you ended up ignoring them and having a big bust up on the pyramid ;-) The rules are free btw* on the Pulp Alley site.  (*bar the league creation bits, but you can get the main rules and the deck - the pdf and printed versions, a proper card deck and all the models are available at Statuesque Minis.

That's only because James bloody well deserved it. I'll check out these free rules. Perhaps the system can be used for other games!

Wow, your work is outstanding! A true inspiration for me!

How do you take photos? Are you using a lightbox?

Gosh - thank you.

Photos are weird - I have the backing paper set up but my light is a massive light and good I was given by a photographer friend. Folds down well but probably bit the thing I would run out and buy if it hadn't been free.

The hood cover (that softens the light) is maybe 20cm (a touch less maybe) from the minis for these pics, with my phone lens just poking up to capture them. I shoot on an iPhone, using the Manual Camera app with HDR turned on. Issue with this method is that depth of field can be pretty shallow - it's very apparent on the Rogue Trader group. Still, it's better than nothing and it was free!

edit: "good cover" became "hood cover"

Hiya - fresh from the LPL, here's my greys:

They're not really 15mm, but thought it was better to stick them in here than to dredge up my 28mm sci-fi thread.

These are from CP Models and were lovely minis to paint - the first minis I've painted in a loooooong time without using any washes - just a greyishblueygreen triad that I really like and some blending.

As I said in my entry it was nice to get some use out of my red tufts too - they looked good on here, I've not really had an opportunity to use them yet.

Great group of figures and a very neat paintjob. Also, those red tufts look fab. I'd probably stick them on everything!

CP do some great figures which I keep nearly buying.

Looking forward to seeing more!

The photo tips are also helpful.

Had to vote for those greys, the colours mesh well, smooth looking and yet the colours really pop too,

Dunno if any of that was technical diarrhoea but that's how I feel about them.
