Loads of character packed into that model (albeit alien and inscrutable), very nicely painted indeed.

Cheers folks - it’s a great mini, the standout from the Rogue Stars range for me (although I do like the big lion-man too).

I’m on a massive terrain kick at the mo - doing a whole chunk of stuff for my desert fantasy (a town and a fort and a board with a road down the middle) but I’m also shopping for bits to make a sci-Fi frontier town at the mo (basically adobe buildings and gribbles). Expect more of that soon.

I did finish off some ruins for fantasy recently, but they’ve only had an outing for test games of the new Five Parsecs from Home:

This is them on my 30x30 skirmish board.

That beaked holuthurian looks tremendous - great work, with a nice subtle conversion!

How do you skirmish in 30x30 cm? I've looked at it, but it seems a bit cramped...

It is a little bit I do two things:

- play games designed for small boards but convert inches to CM (so it becomes well over a 2x2).
- play RPG style encounters, so if it’s over quickly - all good.

I also like ruleset where cover really matters (like the old 5 Parsecs from Home) because that makes the battlefield feel, if not bigger, then certainly more complex.

Thank you sir - not been posting much recently, must jump back into your thread for more inspiration!

Top add to what Jagannath said I'd give this advice. If you can't built out, Build up! verticality is so often under used in game, But on a smaller table if gives extra room to move and encourages 3d movement.
never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

Gosh - it's been ages since I posted in this thread.

Only a short post here – a quick bounty hunter I painted up. I’ve been tinkering with rulesets that I could play out very small, RPG style encounters based around a bounty hunter (currently tweaking Inquisitor) and wanted a new ‘Main Character’ to play with.

Also - sorry! These ain't pretty photos!

Great detail work with the black edging around.

Haha thanks.

Next for 15mm is probably a patrol I’m slowly working through with grassy bases. I’m thinking of recreating some early Rogue Trader vibe (grassy table, trees, concrete bunkers). Nice to have something a bit different (I’ve also got some arctic bits on the go too!)

Evening all,

Bit of a shift for this thread - I decided to treat myself to a 3D Printer having designed and ordered a few prints I was happy with. I've designed and printed quite a few things I'm happy with so far (in fact, I really need to get some more painting done!) and I'm having about the most hobby fun I've had.

Here's a selection of my success so far:

I'm definitely on a 'haulage' theme at the moment - two hover lorries, a smaller hover truck, and a load of crates. The crates in this pic are all one piece, designed to fit squarely on the back of the flat bed truck. I've also got a load of individual crates for more terrain and scattering around other terrain pieces.

This beast is almost finished:

I've had loads of fun - any dodgy texture here is from my amateurish salt weathering, not the print quality.

then I think I'll paint the smaller truck next

For me, vehicles serve as terrain to fight around and set scenes, so I'm loving these chunky vehicles with areas that can be peaked over (partial cover) or hid behind.

I've got big plans for all this, but need to keep upping my skill levels first!
