I bought Shadows of Brimstone core sets.

It's an excellent alternative to Descent and I could not miss it as a Cthulhu fan.

For those who don't know this game, "Shadows of Brimstone is a fast-paced, fully cooperative, dungeon-crawl board game set in the Old West, with a heavy dose of unspeakable horror! Players create characters, taking on the role of a classic Western Hero Archetype. The Heroes venture down into the dark mines, overrun with all manner of ancient demons and foul creatures from another world. With tactical gameplay, lots of dice, and a robust card-driven exploration system, no two games are ever the same as the heroes explore the mines finding new enemies to fight, new loot to collect, and new dangers to overcome. Players can even find portals to other worlds, stepping through to continue their adventures on the other side!"

Here are the miniatures I have painted so far.

The 8 Heroes :

And conversions of hungry dead to create new heroes : Prospector, Male Rancher, Bandida and Huckster  :

The monsters from City of the Ancients box :

The Goliath was a real pain to paint without an airbrush....I hate painting large miniatures.

I am currently painting the monsters from the second box and creating new converted heroes.

I also plan to change the monsters with "real" Cthulhu mythos monsters. Fans already created the cards for such monsters like Mi-GO, Shoggoth, Tindalos Hounds,...

Lovely work. This is how I see me doing the Conan stuff (ie a lot more Cthulhu).

With a bit of conversion I can see the preacher going to the dark side.

Those are nice paint jobs all round. I look forward to seeing more as this goes forwards.

Great work on those figures, top paintwork.
Loving how you have added some character to the bases too.
 :-* :-* :-*

How do these scale up?
What size are the bases that the heroes are on for instance?

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Thanks to all of you for the kind comments.

The miniatures are 34mm tall (the bases are 30mm diameter). They are compatible in size with Black Scorpion and Reaper miniatures.

Though the characters are a lot slimmer than either.

Fantastic work with these. I've not bothered to desprue some of mine as the detail was so flat and uninspiring

You are right they are slimmer than the other miniatures I mentioned...and lack details compared to the resin painted versions as seen in the rulebook.

Some people replaced all the heroes by Black Scorpion miniatures....I hesitated but after all it's only a board game.

Great pj's and conversions, Eric.
Love the Bandida and the Huckster  :)
"Aphrodite IX" head, right?

The Reaper Deadlands-minis could have been nice for the heros as well, by the way  ;)

You are right for both Tobias ! Aphrodite head and Reaper Deadlands and Chronoscope would be perfect but I didn't want to spend too much for a board game...I'll add some Reaper Bones BTW....coming soon.
