Help: British Infantry 1790s in 15mm?
« on: February 16, 2015, 05:11:52 PM »
Hi!

For a new project I am looking for British infantry of the 1790s in round hats in 15mm. It has to be round hats, as I will be doing the Haitian Revolution and overseas troops had those hats.

The only ones I could find are Minifigs, which are ok but only one pose. As I am doing a skirmish project, I'd like to have more variety. So, does anyone know of such figures in 15mm?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers
Shandy

Two dragons had a range for India, maybe these have the figures you want. Two dragons can be found on Minfigs site

Cheers, I just checked them out, there are some that should fit! I've ordered a pack to try them out.
Thanks for your help!

I'm going on memory here but I had a selection of the Two Dragons figures 20 odd years ago. In fact I think I sill have some tucked away somewhere. Lovely little miniatures but the range really is for 1798 onwards. The figures are in tunics not coats or roundabouts. Not sure how picky you are about these things.

If I were picky, I could bin the whole project  lol
Seriously, thanks for the info! But as there are no figures for the Haitian's troops in 15mm, I'll have to use figures that look sufficiently similar anyway. So if the Brits are also a bit off it doesn't matter to me.
I'll give the Two Dragons a try.

Shandy,

Minifigs French Revolution range - 1790s British infantry and artillery (mostly bicornes but some in round hats)

Two Dragons - a bit "Mike's Models" in terms of sculpting style

Battle Honours / AB Figures - some RN landing party and British infantry for an Aboukir Landings sub-range that never really happened

Thoroughbred Miniatures "Sea Eagles" range for British marines, and also for boats and other useful stuff for what I imagine will include amphibious ops

Any other range that has British marines, as these will be more or less identical with line infantry in round hats for this period (subject to the change from 18thC style coats with lapels to 19thC single-breasted coatees)

Cheers Baron! I'll have a closer look at the Two Dragon minis. I guess I'll have to make compromises - fortunately I'm not a nitpicker and no nothing of napoleonic uniforms  lol
