15mm Zombie Project
« on: September 26, 2008, 04:39:10 PM »
Howdy folks,

Just thought I'd post a quick link to the first bit in a zombie projust I am working on. It involves converting a number of non-zombie figures in 15mm. I have posted the introduction and a quick snap of some of the first work on my blog (http://leadpeople.blogspot.com/2008/09/zombie-mania.html). Take a look and let me know what you think. I appologize, in advance, for the pics, my camera is showing its age.

Good work so far! :)

I'm currently trying something similar as a minor project with 1/100 railway models, but I've only based up about 30 Zeds so far, and I haven't painted anything :(

Thanks!

No worries on the progress. The zeds are hard to do for me. I find painting zombies much less entertaining than converting them. Many of the ones I did have bits of putty added here and there for gore. I am hoping to get some good quality pics of the zombie dogs and pigs that I converted from regular farm animal 15mm figs.

Pay attention to the blog and watch for posts here in the coming weeks/months. I have had a steady stream of requests from my gaming group for various zombie animals and I have leanred that I love converting them.

As for zombie pigs - the idea seems so obvious I am not sure why they haven't appeared in more zombie movies. Likely because most zombie movies don't have cross-infection of animals as part of the plot. Pigs are nasty enough alive, let alone as zombies.

Too true about the pigs! I live in a rural part of the world...can be bad tempered beasties!(can't we all tho?).Good luck with the project.

Thank you for the well wishes.

I've got a 50 zombie lead-in so far, so it all seems off to a good start. Finding good survivor figures can be tough, but with all the brushfire militia figures coming out, is shouldn't be too hard.

The hardest part has been finding 15mm street cops. There are plenty of 15mm riot cops, tactical teams, SWAt, etc, but finding a flatfoot is tough.
