What I painted in September (2008)
« on: September 28, 2008, 06:10:16 PM »
I know there are a few days to go, but I'll be away from home, so might as well check out now.  ;)

Slow month, haven't had much time to paint.

US flying platforms:

WWII Japanese zombie:

The controversial green Cap and Bucky:

Rantanplan (from Lucky Luke):

Lucky Luke (from... ehm... Lucky Luke):

Hey!

Sorry, I didn't mention it before, but those flying platforms are most excellent.

I really do love to see other people's work, but don't always have time to comment.

Well done!

Nice work   :)

Can anybody post their "month work's" here?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

That's what the thread is for. There's usually one at the end of every month. To my great consternation, might I add :D

Some day I'll start contributing. Some day.

Ah, heck WK, you beat me to it. I was just gonna start this off as I won't get chance to finish anything else by Tuesday.

I love those Lucky Luke figures. I have one book (Dalton City) and I've never seen any anywhere else in English. Rantanplan is called Rin Tin Can in mine, how 'bout that?

@ Calimero: God yes, the more the merrier!

Anyway, here's my contribution to the imminent collapse of my loftspace.

The remainder of my Caveman tribe finally completed (14 months later!):

Miscellaneous avians:

Mammoth!

King Klong:

Assorted camp markers:

Some frankly risible Old Glory bearers:

Some better OG captives:

The Professor and his manservant:

An African mercenary:

Some Victorian adventurers:

Some Pulpy Adventurers:

And finally, the old Citadel dinosaur thing I traded Heldrak for, now christened The Crumplosaur because of its rather sad and battered appearance:

Phew! A grand total of 42 pieces this month, a personal best. I think I've gone a bit mental, actually...  :(

I like the Green Capt WK, also the flying platforms are great.

Fantastic load of lost world fun Bob, where did those vultures come from?

It was all quiet for the first half of the month, then I got on a bit of a roll for a week, then ended up sick as a dog and in bed for a week.  So all in all, a slow month for me.

Watching the HBO/BBC series Rome again, I was inspired to repaint and rebase some of my old
Foundry Romans.

Characters

Scorpions

More WWII, a mixture of BAM and Artizan models.

Fallschrimjaeger, with crazy automatic weapons

Heer Riflemen

Heer LMGs

Feldwebel Ostermann

Red Devil Riflemen

A few more modern British for UNIT/Stargate games.  I had some models left over from building my platoon
so decided to get them painted up as spares.  Miniatures from TAG.

I love it when a plan comes together.  :D

In the Danish version, it's 'Ratata' (Usually the comic-book phonetic for automatic fire).

@ revford: The vultures are from DeeZee miniatures, available from Wargames Illustrated's website. They come with seperate heads too, so there is allowance for some variation in pose. I just didn't bother, obviously.

Revford and Jollybob are both nutters. It would take me a whole month off to match that output. ;)

This is what I painted in September… Or should I say what I managed to finish painting in September?  lol

A few Redoubt ACW figures…

Some SWAT, Policemen and High-Tech Criminal… (I will put them for sale soon  ;))

Dr. Klomp and his (not so) lovely assistants…

Those white blouse almost drive me crazy in the end… I’m never again to use black primer for figures sporting so much white!  >:(

And a Napoleonic French Officer

I was thinking using it for the upcoming painting competition on the Steve Dean Forum but I found that the quality of my painting have, somehow, stagnated or even decrease lately!  :'(
