Hello, fellow Adventurers!
« on: September 28, 2008, 08:24:59 PM »
Hello, everybody!

I came across this forum by browsing through http://www.witchhunter.net/ and this seems to be a great place for historical wargaming.

I'm from Germany and started tabletop gaming in 1997 with a Beastman army for Warhammer. I switched to Mordheim immediately when it was released and got into historical wargaming thanks to the "Legends" series of Warhammer Historical. I prefer skirmish games to large armies so Mordheim and the LotHS are my favourites at the moment. I am currently working on assembling and painting a few Pirate/Royal Navy crews, so I will be posting in the Swashbucklers section soon (hopefully).

Maybe it's good to finish an introduction with some pictures of miniatures, so here are some photos of my Battle Monks warband for Mordheim, which I converted for an alternate Mordheim setting (remember that they are not 100% historically accurate).

This is a crossbowman I converted based on illustration from an Osprey book and WH Ancient Battles:

And a little diorama at the end:

Welcome. 8)

Nice minis, although some of the pics seem cut in half.

Welcome aboard. Indeed, showing some of your work is also good for your introduction(and assimilation).

He he, thanks everyone! I hope to be able to post some painted Pirates soon (and thus become fully assimilated).  :) Thanks again for the welcome!

Welcome aboard.

Splendid looking monks - they would fit in with quite a few settings - Back of Beyond, Pulp, Swashbuckling (maybe against Portugese explorers etc or even pirates).

Don't worry over much about historical accuracy - look at some of the Back of Beyond/Pulp stuff on here.

As long as it's fun, who cares about accuracy is all I can say!
