"Unspeakable Words" Game
« on: September 28, 2008, 09:31:10 PM »
Hi all

I just picked up this game at a local toyshop, never seen it before but looks like a proper laugh. Unspeakable Words from Playroom Entertainment:

http://www.playrooment.com/Default.aspx?tabid=1315

It's basically a card based Scrabble type game, but you have to roll for SAN above your word-score or you lose a life, represented by the cutest li'l Cthulhu miniatures. (took this one off BoardGameGeek)

Really looking forward to trying it out. Has anybody here played it? Reviews and opinions on replayability welcome!

Cheers

JB

Edited for idiot drunk fool spelling.

You must have better toyshops than us
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Maybe, but I still have to go twenty odd miles to get there. For some reason the toyshop in Keswick does loads of cool looking boardgames and things. Obviously catering to the weather-bound camping types.  lol

I think I will have to visit said Toystore on a more regular basis.

Also, I think we now have something to do during next weekends Sunday night boozing.

I've played this a few times, it's really fun.  It'd be good for kids too.

The wife and I play all the time...one of our favorite games. Great 'thulhu content and a fun, easy time.

Nice! Glad I bought it now. I was gonna play last night but ended up getting too drunk to spell. Never mind.

@ Danny: yer on pal, but I should warn you, they have to be real words.

I saw this in a comic shop in Liverpool but passed it by... didn't know you got mini-cthulhus though! How many of those do you get?

I bought it to use in ESL lessons here in Sweden, but haven't tried it yet. I'm still waiting for my kids to learn how to read and spell, before I can play it with them.  :?
Visit Island of Wak Wak for Mythos goodies.
