So many great elements to be found on your table. I'd pick out what I like the most, but it's everything combined that really makes this a spectacular work of terrain art.

Thank's guys, i am realy happy about your comments. I am just giving back some Tabletop love. ;)
Working on terrain is so cool. It is very creative and easier to paint than minis.
But soon i have to paint more minis to play with other people. My main goal is my own 40k Skirmish Game and a lot of 2on2, 1on1on1on1 or Coop Games with my friends.

But today terrain again.
The User Eilif from Chicago showed us HotWheels Chargers painted for SciFi Wargaming. Because of that i looked at the HotWheels market and bought many sets:

I found out that LEGO Bionicles got good pieces, too:

I found one HotWheels piece that is realy cool for my purposes without big changes:

So i changed it just a bit:

And painted it:

For storing it, you can disassembly it:

The hooks/gripper are made from LEGO Bionicle pieces.
I never saw someone doing this, so maybe i am the first one. I love to be a pioneer.  ;)

Next things will be the HotWheels Chargers like Eilif did them before.

Cheers,
Jan

Very clever, and very effective. These are great additions for a junkyard / dockyard setting!

Superb scenery all round!
 :-* :-*

I missed this thread earlier and am REALLY glad to have caught it now as random sci-fi clutter is very much on the menu for me next year.
Loads of great tips in here.....
I had better start searching now, I guess!

That is cooler than the other side of the pillow!

Must imitate somehow.
"When to keep awake against the camel's swaying or the junk's rocking, you start summoning up your memories one by one, your wolf will have become another wolf, your sister a different sister, your battle other battles, on your return from Euphemia, the city where memory is traded." - Italo Calvino

Jan,
Wonderful looking table.
I know what you mean about doing terrain.
I enjoy making terrain more that I like painting figures.
Great idea with Hotwheels.
A number of years ago Hotwheels did a bunch of dinosaur sets.
Was able to find a number on sale.
Once painted they added a lot to the game.

While my very limited contribution means I've no room to speak, I've got a feeling you'll see a 'paid in full.'

REALLY nice work, real silk purses out of sow's ears.

Oh, forget about that 'paid in full'; you KNOW we'll want more!

THAT turned out very nicely Jan.  :-*

It looks like it works, your little detail extras really help mate, and the triple set looks like it comes with 2 other exciting bits to play with too!  8)

Cheers

Wow, awesome terrain in this thread. Very creative use of toys to make terrain.

I agree it is fun to make terrain and scifi/fantasy gives you a lot of freedom
