I'm taking a slight divergence form the ASOIAF / GOT theme into more generic fantasy. Started on these Mantic skeleton warriors. I really like the models, they have a grungy Diablo II vibe.  They aren't finished, I'm thinking of an 'evil eye' symbol in white for their shields. Anybody got any suggestions? Pictures or links to examples would really help.

I wouldn't fo an eye for a symbol, but some northern houses symbols as they are undead men from the North

I always thought the eye symbol in the Legend of Zelda games was interesting: http://zeldawiki.org/Eye_Symbol

Had a crack at some Ironborn foot. Rubbish photo unfortunately.

Shown here is an Ironborn raiding party lead by Left Hand Lucas Codd. Men of House Wynch (bloody moon on purple), Stonetree (Grey tree on black) and various lesser houses have sworn to follow the Left Hand.

After a massive break from painting due to a combination of work and CKII, I have had a go drawing, then painting a house sigil on paper to use a banner.

Robert Glover is a man whose fortunes have risen and fallen dramatically on the tides of war. At the outbreak of the War of The Five Kings Robert Glover sat at the high table of Rob Stark King of the North, sharing in the glory of the Young King's victories.

Roberts woes began with the capture of Deepwood Mott by the Ironborn, where his wife and children were taken captive. At the battle of Dukesdale the Northern forces under his command were crushed, he was then taken captive leading the survivors in retreat along the Kingsroad.

After Robb Stark secured his release in exchange for Martyn Lannister, Glover found himself adrift without men or gold, his family seat lost. Reduced to begging for assistance at the court of Wyman Manderly Robert looks desperately to regain his lands and avenge his fallen kinsmen.

Robert Glover is shown here with a meager retinue.

Lots of very nice builds and colour schemes in this thread. I'm very taken with House Locke. May have to do a few of those myself  :)
Great stuff. Please keep up the good work. Some great ideas for inspiration in here.

First post in a year.

Jon Cupps elevated the fortunes of his minor house by marring Leyla Hightower, daughter of Leyton Hightower - head of one of the oldest, richest families in Westeros. Ser Jon Cupps is shown here in plate mail brandishing a poleaxe - his house sigil, two golden goblets on a scarlet field is shown at his left - the banner of his wife's house, a white tower on grey is to his right.

In peacetime these drilled pikemen are charged with protecting one of the many ancient stone bridges which cross the Honeywine.

Pelagir is the greatest port city in Gondor, it lies to the south of Minas Tirith at the mouth of the Anduin river. One of the first places settled by Númenóreans in Middle Earth, it is the traditional base of operations for Gondorian fleets. The men of Pelagir most often serve as sailors, manning the warships and merchant vessels of Gondor. Shown here are a unit of Pelagir Marines, stalwart warriors at home fighting from the decks of ships.

Pelagir Marines were my favourite unit in the Medieval Total War MOD 'Third Age' - early game heavy infantry with javelins, i'm not sure if they are Tolkien cannon or just invented for the game?

Nice work on both updates. Been a while since I read any Tolkien, but I'd guess the unit type is a game thing and not a book thing.

Great stuff, sneaking those Carthaginian ("Phoenician"?) helmets in there was a nice touch!  :)
