« on: March 24, 2015, 01:09:08 AM »
Hi guys...been a month or so since last I posted...a few projects in between, but a new house is complete.
As usual foamcore and cardboard...paint and time are in this one with some craft sticks.

Well done, the shingles look good, and your buildings work well together. The stone work looks good. 8) 8)
I can easily see a whole scratch built town spring up around these pieces :)

I'd possibly suggest watching scale creep on future builds, those are large buildings when you consider how big the miniatures are. A small church or large hall easily in size. Just a thought if you are planning on turning to private dwellings. Peasant folks don't take up too much room ;) and don't mind low ceiling heights :D I started making buildings a little large too, but have seen some sense in making them a little smaller (STORAGE!!)  lol  lol  lol  lol

Cheers
Matt

Constable,
Thank you!

I see your point about scale creep...I will build some smaller peasant styled houses in the future...smaller and way less ornate.
On these and a few more I am planning,(like a coach inn) they are a little large for playability.
I was really thinking of a wealthy town or small port city for any fantasy rpg...

I did a lot of research before I started these whimsical buildings and was amazed at just how SMALL the real peasant homes were...one room with a thatched roof and central fire pit...space for the animals to come in at night for protection from thieves and predators...nice extra warmth in the winter! lol...i'd prolly build a tree house and stay there!!! lol lol lol

I was thinking the red roof one would be some kind of tavern or meeting place and the blue roof was some rich cat's house...anyway
it's just too much fun I have been having with this!

As long as you're having fun, that's what matters I say. :D

I'd rather want to sleep in a tree too if the animals stayed indoors in the only room in the house! lol lol lol
