Battlegroup 84 - The Refinery
« on: April 08, 2015, 12:25:14 AM »
A few pics from the first playtest of Battlegroup 84, a Cold War modification of the WW2 system.

Soviet advance clashes with West German Panzer grenadiers and US Airborne. Basics worked fine, the leopard 2 turned out to be a rock with its stabilisation and advanced optics traits, the NATO artillery ranged in early on a good position and was able to keep shelling while Soviet rocket barrages did little.

Lots to do, but the basics seem sound and everyone enjoyed it. Thanks to Skip and Brian for bringing the models and figures, and for Brian to hosting the first game at the new Hobbyden venue.

Looks really good. The terrain looks brilliant. Are the buildings scratch built?

I believe most are 1/72ed HO scale model train sets.

Figures are mostly RH Models (aka Liberation), buildings are mostly Wikkywok with a HO scale refinery tossed in.

..Battlegroup 84, a Cold War modification of the WW2 system..

Excellent, definitely looking forward to the idea of this. Of course I want to ask questions like will it be a full book? A pdf? When will it be out? But I suspect it's early days for that  :D

Of course if you were able to release it around October... not that I would suggest you attempt to spoil another company's release ;)
