The narration is just Luke.

Seems it's worked out neatly for Abrams that Mark Hamill became such a well-regarded voice actor.

that makes sense, guess I'm over thinking it  lol

So apparently BB-8 F1F4 uses 100% practical effects.

How the heck does that work?

Must be a wheeled or ball-joint propelled engine inside the droid that weighs down the body and controls movement, while the head must be kept in place by magnetism. Precisely how they coordinate movement I can't fathom, but there might be a sensor inside the head that reacts to the head being tilted and makes it move against the tilt (would explain why the droid seems to 'lean forward' when moving).
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I suspect the ball droid works like a Segway device. Only in two dimensions not just one. That must be a fantastic robotics problem to solve. it makes me think I would like to build one, too.

Ep 1-3 and Lucas' back alley surgery on the original three (Han shot first dammit! And the extra CGI is like a moustache on the Mona Lisa to me) ruined the Star Wars magic for me.
But now I'm quietly hoping these movies will bring it back. :)

Yea, that droid sold me on it. The fact they build something we all asumed could only be CG is pretty amazing.  :o

I'm in love with that trailer, and its only 2 minutes long...well actually shorter when you remove the adverts at the end. I did read on IGN that the chrome trooper is actually female, no idea if that's true or not.

Did anyone notice that Chewie and Han's stance is just like they did in A New Hope promotional pictures?

while BB8 does look a bit silly I'm betting he's gonna steal every scene he's in, love the fact that they did him practical

Oh yesss, finally something realy good and exiting. And yes - we are home now!

Watched it far too many times already.
LOL, me too, is 6x OK or too little?

I love the crashed SD - looked like a mountain at first.
My favourite scene too! Also a lot ike the Starship graveyard on Hoth in the SWTOR MMO!.

The Dark Jedi's head dress looked a little odd to me, but hey I can live with that!
Looks a lot lot like Darth Revan from the Old Republic too me:

I'm not so sure that's Han's kid, ...

I think we all expect Jaina - the sword of the Jedi - Solo somehow.
The expanded Universe has left a mark on some of us at least!
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - http://www.adpublishing.de
