So much of this I approve of. Absolutely love the shot of the Storm Troopers.

Crazy excited about this, rightly or wrongly.

It will be fun seeing Luke on the dark side and being the  bad guy, as Jedi was supposed to end.

It looks like JJ Abrams is personalizing the stormtroopers.

If the chrome trooper is Brianne :-) and there's the guy whose squad seems to have been lost, then this could be a really cool look inside all those anonymous and equal stormtrooper suits.

Supposing this is true, I wonder how they went from being clones to being individuals.  There must be some kind of interesting plot twist and explanation in there.

To quote from the SW Rebels: The Visual Guide "The original soldiers of the Grand Army of the Republic were clones. Stormtroopers however, are mostly naturally born men and women, trained in brutal imperial academies."

IIRC there was a rebelion on kameno, which lead to the destruction of the cloning facilities.

Thanks for the explanation, folks.

I thought JJ Abrams declared that all Star Wars stories and characters outside of the six movies are no longer cannon.  Am I mistaken?

This would imply that the story of the Kamino rebellion is no longer necessarily part of the story.

Just wondering.

That is the only unfortunate part  :?

But from what we've seen so far I don't think there's any need to worry  :)

Well as far as I understand all the announcements EVERYTHING outside the 6 movies is not really canon.
It is all called SW Legends now.  :? :-I :(

That does not mean that chars from the EU will NOT appear.
Abrams and Kennedy just want to avoid too much stories as in the EU, where some of our heroes would be on a constant adventure.

The next few month will see  "Journey to The Force Awakens", small snippets too hype us all even more.

This article on Starwars.com confirms that both the clone wars and Rebels is in fact canon

http://www.starwars.com/news/the-legendary-star-wars-expanded-universe-turns-a-new-page

Quote
He set the films he created as the canon. This includes the six Star Wars episodes, and the many hours of content he developed and produced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. These stories are the immovable objects of Star Wars history, the characters and events to which all other tales must align.
...
On the screen, the first new canon to appear will be Star Wars Rebels.

I swear there was something in the 'final film' or Episode 3, that explained/mentioned that after the Clones were used to eradicate the Jedi, the Emperor made sure that they used a combination of different clone strains and human troops intermixed to safeguard against the Clones possibly turning on the Sith.

I also had someone explain to me that the race Chewbacca hails from live for an exceptionally long time, so in Chewie years (the film is set '20 years' after the last episode) he has only really aged a few years.

Really looking forward to this film though, really digging the stormtroopers, excellent looking cannon fodder.  :-*
