Resin/Plastic City Buildings
« on: April 20, 2015, 12:21:19 PM »
Does anyone know of any companies that do non MDF City Buildings?

I'm thinking stuff that can be used for Supers, Modern, Zombies, Gangster etc. Like the Sarissa City Block stuff but in Plastic.

I have seen the Plasticvile stuff but sadly no one seems to stock these in the UK. Surly this style of buildings for Train Hobby enthusiasts are not only available to US Train Modelers.

Old Glory do some nice ones in Resin but i dread to think of the cost of getting the buildings to the UK.

I have a lot of Plasticville, although a lot of it is more 1950s.  eBay is probably your best bet although there is a newer company called ameritowne that sells some really nice modern brick buildings.

The boxes are light and shipping may not be that bad.

I have a nice 2 story and factory from k-line as well.  You might be able to get a deal off of eBay.  Check out a couple of local train hobby stores as well.  They may be able to order something for you free of charge.  I got my church that way.

Rubicon may have something you could use but they are still in the development stage of their plastic building kits.

Some suggestions for you:-

Dust Tactics Warzone Tenement (If you can find one at a decent price)

Italeri Berlin House

Mantic Mars Attacks - These modular scenery packs will be released soon and can be made into a variety different types of building.

And if you are more into building and converting check out Ainsty's Streetwise range for resin shop fronts etc.

And also check out Amera - their factory building and Ministry building would fit the bill.

Ameritowne is your best bet I think.  Plasticville is nice, but it doesn't have that New York feel.

Is this for your Turtle games?

Ameritowne also sells fronts and backs for much cheaper.  If you made a waterfront district You could use them on the outside of the board like Grim did on his Innsmouth board.  If you included cars, lamp posts and other clutter you could probably get away with 4-5 buildings.  You could even build a board that had a sewer entry point.

The buildings are squat (more 1920s) but it gives you an idea with 4 buildings on a 2 by 3 table.

Best prices for AMeritowne.

Yeah it's a new york board but i could use this for many games. Thanks for all the suggestions. I might make the leap and buy a few of the AMeritowne buildings.

The MTH buildings are so good as well. UK railway modelers are missing out by not having these easily available :)
