Wow, they look fab.

What colours do you use for the field grey bits of uniform?  I've got a bunch of germans to paint up and want to do them as just plain old vanilla troops.  Any guidance on paints would be appreciated.

I used Vallejo field grey for the pants and field blue for the jackets, Russian uniform for the plain jump smocks, when doing Heer troops in plain field grey I make at least 3 different shades of field grey by adding khaki or khaki grey to the field grey, and painting pants and tops in the different shades, this way they look a bit more realistic whilst still looking uniform, if you Google German uniforms you will see there was a lot of variation in colours, this is due to different factories using different dyes and the Germans redying and reissuing captured uniforms.

Hi guys

A batch of German and US Paras finished on commission, these are from offensive miniatures, the first time I have painted this companies figs, they are on the smaller end of the scale for 28mm, and wouldn't mix well with Warlord or Artizan, but would probably suit Perry's figs (though I have not seen Perry's WWII in the hand) just heard they are also on the smaller end, I like the US figs more than the Germans, they look more serious and realistic, but overall they are all OK.

Nice work as usual
I wonder if the German FJ would mix with the Wargames Foundry ones?

Not sure, I haven't ever painted their Fallschirmjagers, but if their Norman's are anything to go by they would be to small.

More nice work Dan and I agree that the US paras are the "nicer" of the two. Also got some Foundry Brits and Germans to do here at some stage this year which will be the first decent batch of gaming figs I've painted in a while ....

cheers

Gunner Dunbar is right - Offensive are on small side, so mix well with Perrys (I have done this with some Italians and they fit in so well I can't figure out which figures are which) but would be way small vs Foundry.  Their FJ and DAK are rather good, wish they would do some more.

Very good, especially the spiv (very Carlos Ezquerra). His rifle definitely fell off the back of a lorry.

Nice work :) I agree that the Offensive minis probably wouldn't sit that well with the WF ones, for while they're no-where near as chunky as WG, they are pretty much the same height.
