Much-Piddling (Under Construction)
« on: April 25, 2015, 04:36:03 PM »
Great excitement in Much-Piddling as the new pub, "The Earl of Snapcase" (courtesy of Chris Abbey at Sally 4th) starts to look like a pub. Unfortunately work must stop now as I'm going down the real pub!

Liking it very much! :-*

Is that General Melchette on the wall? (Don't know whether the spellings correct there?)

Wow! Wonderful job on the interior!!! Love the posters and pictures. Along with the floor, they really make it leap out and look realistic...

Thanks, a bit more work to do yet. There will be a removable first floor but I haven't ordered it from Chris yet.

It is indeed General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmanay Melchett, KCB a distant relation of the Earls of Snapcase! (and Mata Hari is there too).

Must be a posh place - the sign suggests that the toilets and garden are separate entities.... :D

If Mata Hari is the picture I think it is, the lady appears to have just emerged from her bath and is in danger of contacting a severe chill...

I think it looks great - did you find using the photo-realistic finishing straight-forward?

Doug

Yes, very easy to use although I printed it onto A4 sticky labels which meant you could only have one go at applying! A few sphincter-tightening moments! Next time I might use PVA and ordinary paper so you can make final adjustments.

The interior wallpapers and pictures/posters are my design added to Chris's original kit.

When it's finished you will see the outdoor toilets! I haven't made the beer garden yet.

Made a bit more progress today. I have added the porch, the window sills, a sign and some posters.

Martin,

That is truely amazing. It puts my build to shame. I do love the interiors. We are planning to make interior sets in due course with internal walls, staircases etc, so your build will inspire me to put it higher up the to-do list.

I have tried printing on to self adhesive matt photo paper and printing on to normal matt photo paper and applying glue to the wall of the model and found the latter method a lot easier because you could do that final adjustment. I do look forward to seeing it finished and a in use in a game.

Outstanding!

That's very kind of you to say so, Chris. High praise, indeed! The internal staircases will be a very useful addition. I agree with your comments about using glue not sticky paper. The sticky label paper is great for the small posters etc. but you have to be very careful doing the larger pieces, so it's PVA next time!

I'm planning another order with yourself shortly. I want the internal bit for the pub and also I'm very tempted by the corner shop. I think I may be modelling the village of Much-Piddling and there will indeed be a game very soon.

Cheers!
