6mm Troy (from 1988)
« on: April 28, 2015, 12:15:09 PM »
I have hooked up a slide scanner to upload 35mm images to digital format. I am now trawling through slide boxes to see what I have lurking. We spent several years in the Moddle east in the 80's and I had plenty of time for modelling, sitting on shaded verandahs with an iced drink . One of the things I built out there, and which I could not bring back, was a 1/300th Troy. The figures are Irregular minis I only recently sold. The model was just scrap cardboard and paper, on an expanded polystyrene hill.

It is not bad.  I really like it.  Not sure why I did not comment before but you did some really awesome work there.

It is a very cool little model and a couple of those shots do look realistic enough to be, well, realistic.

I honestly thought that two of those photos were for reference when you were doing your build.   It looks awesome.

Bezzo, don't worry about the petulant.  I find that an endearing quality in moderation.  We all need our moments in the sun.  You certainly earned more of one than you originally got.  You posted something awesome and it got lost in the shuffle.  I now know that if I see your name attached to a post, no matter what scale I have to check it.  As I have been working on a bunch of terrain tops/boards lately seeing your Troy project, even though it is in a scale I would never touch, was a nice piece of inspiration and a real kick in the hind quarters to keep me motivated and moving forward.

Mature is for cheese or wine.

Besides, sometimes it takes more than one view to work out what to say.
