A Tale from the Tin Shed.28mm Airship.for Pulp and VSF.
« on: April 28, 2015, 05:40:51 PM »
It struck me that I've mention in other posts Airships I make for fun. These normally take a couple of months.Mainly because I only use those left over bits of clay,Plasticard etc. From sculpts or commissions so its hit and miss as and when I add bits to the model.

Most things are stored in my workshop, until They get in the way. Then they either get glued to the wall or given away to a charity aution.

Eric,
How are you doing the ribbing on the airship?

I'm using the revell 1/600th method lol
Sorry I didn't make it clear (I've mentioned it in other topic's so forgot in my own).
Their 1/600th Airship kit is a staple starting point for several bespoke models I do,on a regular basis.
It provides a really fast starting point for a Vsf submarine(you can do two from one kit). Its also a great starting point for Pulp style spaceship/ rocket. Both can be done in an afternoon.
The small 28mm Airship is the most fun to do,but its the most time consuming.
I'm not bothering with super clean lines or matching in the patches,As I'm aiming for a Heath Robinson feel to it,a too cleaner line would detract from the image of a homemade airship thats had a hard life.
Also because I'm adding bits of left over clay as I'm working on commissioned projects.I don't want to spend an age every time I pick it up.
The reason I use the Airship model(a lot) is it makes up to just over 30cm in length which for me is ideal for storage and gaming a like.
Mark.

Damn, this is looking good!

What's the Pilot from, by the way? Is he one of the Empress models?

Will the pilots and observers be available commercially?
