Agree, the white and red has worked - as has the Scorpion Green shades.

Thanks for the feeback guys, painting the plants was a nice "break" and lit a fire under me to do more painting.

Second Votom finished.

I pushed this guy up the queue because I want to get some Firefight games in soon. With one more flamethrower Merc done, I'll have a nice little 1000 point army.

This also means the the final Saurians will be getting pushed back so that the next army can get 1000 points painted... Get ready to meet; The Universal Church of Truth.  ;)

Finished the second LMG and Flamethrower Mercs:

(Sorry about the picture quality, the light here is crummy today.)

And here is the big deal, 1000 points of Firefight Corporation:

Firefight is still in alpha, but I'm keen to get a few games in, it looks pretty nifty for the $1 investment on Kickstarter. For the Saurians, I've chosen Veterans for the Mercs so that they're a tad more competent than your average Xenos with a gun. I think size-wise, the army is pretty decent in terms of collecting and numbers of minis on the table.

A few more Saurians finished, closing in on having the army complete:

Saurian Veterans, now expanded to ten strong. Will be Corporation Rangers in Firefight.

Saurian Adventurer. Can serve as a Corporation Officer in Firefight or Commissar in 40K.

Let's go kick some heads in!

One complete squad of VOTOMs:

Corporation Striders in Warpath and Firefight, Imperial Guard Sentinels in 40K.

Having a game of Firefight on the weekend, will take some pictures.

Had my first game of Firefight with the Saurians, took some pics, game thoughts below.

My WIP SF/post appoc table in all it's lack of glory.

Saurian deployment, Corporation.

Space Puppy and proxy deployment, Enforcers.

Pathfinders deploy on a building.

Saurian VOTOM fire knocks out some Space Wolf Scouts.

Striders exchange fire.

Enforcers move quickly and can ignore terrain, so they take positions on the table quickly.

True-scale Space Wolf Scouts snipe at Saurian Mercenaries. That's why I wargame!

Return fire wipes out the Scouts.

Striders played a big role in the game, we may need more heavy weapons in armies in the future.

The veteran's "Headstrong" ability meant that Suppression was never a factor for my army.

The battle was decided around the well in a massive, bloody crossfire.

We finally get in to melee combat!

Inquistor versus VOTOM in hand-to-hand.

The core system is good, combat is fast and not bogged down in too many pointless die rolls. The Objectives don't seem to add much to the game at this stage, but early days and all that. The Orders add strategy and options, meaning that I never felt stuck or cornered. I'll be playing more games and hopefully getting the rules right over the next few weeks.

Hat,

What happened to the pics on the previous five pages?
Can we see closers pics of...
Scout w/ bloody sword
Golden Enforcers
The Ogryn and his green buddy.
And what ever is riding around on the red mount.
These are all in the most recent pics.

Hey Grimm, the pictures vanish after a time because I'm using facebook to host them and the location eventually changes. I'm trying something new now, so we'll see how that goes.

All those minis you want to see more of belong to my opponent, so I'll see what I can do about some pictures.

On the other hand, I've finally finished a couple of units for the next army;

The Universal Church of Truth
Once thought to be nothing more than fringe cult, the Universal Church of Truth has become a force to be reckoned with. The Church worships the occurrence of life in the universe as the greatest of all miracles, revering life itself as the most godly happenstance in existence. As such, it's fanatical followers are willing to kill and die in the name of the life they worship.

Black Knights
The Black Knights are the main fighting force of the Church, recruited from the most fanatical of followers and enhanced with cyborg parts and sorcery, the Knights are superhumanly strong and fast, wielding advanced weaponry and utterly devoted to the faith. As the church does not discriminate, any member of sufficient ability can join the Knights, as well as a couple of humans, this unit includes a Tau and an Ork member.

Black Knight Lancers
Equipped with fusion lances, these Black Knights are tasked with eliminating heavily armoured enemies of the faith. Led by a Centauri, the Robot, Eldar, Beastman and Skull members show the diversity that can be found in these raving, murdering fanatics.

Have the pictures worked?

The congregation grows:

Another unit of Black Knights, these elite warriors rarely need to act in larger groups. The variety of headgear across Knights can be contributed to trophy taking, a practice technically considered sinful, but few are willing to deny the mighty Black Knights their fun. This unit boasts a Swampie and Genetic Infantry member among its cyborged humans.

From what I remember of your work posted here Scurv, I'd have to say "Maybe?" Your more "black powder" units, such as the pikes may be difficult to include, as there aren't too many analogous units. I'd be happy to go over it with you sometime and have a look though.

Saurian reinforcements:

Final RPG Team finished, giving me three. I may need some different support weapons for Firefight down the track, but I'm waiting for the final version of the rules.

Progress has been pretty good:

Saurian Armoured Trasport, an offshoot of IFD technology designed to transport support weapons into the thick of fighting.

Many enemy troops have met a grisly end when they got too close to the angry dinosaur under the battle howdah.

Saurian SWTs make use of the mobile armour to provide fire support.

This imposing wall of metal and bone may well be the last thing an enemy sees.

So what's left for the Saurians? One more VOTOM, two squads, a tank and couple of characters.  :P

Going to be a couple of post spread out today as I work around getting my assignments finished.

First up, some request shots of some of Benny's minis:

And now for a look at the SF shanty town I'm putting together slowly. Hopefully the pace increases once the above-mentioned assignments are in and summer rolls around.

I want the buildings to provide a bit of cover, but still not hide the really big stuff.

AAR later today or maybe tomorrow.

Hi, Hat Guy - those latest pictures aren't showing for me (nor the one you posted last to "Dalek OOB").
Back from the dead, almost.
