Well hello all.
(Pictures will follow later today).
So yup bought a load of figures last year, looked at them..when 'mmm', then like some child with a short attention span I....oooh whats that over there!
(And so they languished in the wierd war box until the last few weeks).
So I dug out my 4 zombies, 8 grenadiers (G-SOTR02 & G-SOTR01) and prepped and undercoated the zeds.
Then I pondered on colour schemes for a few weeks, (trying to choose the right field grey)
Then I thought....erm hang on, I'll need more than 4 zeds, so I ordered the SOTR-SP02 BRAINWURST! starter pack:
1x G-SOTR07 German Zombie Horde (20 models with bare heads)
1x SHS-SOTR07 German Zombie Heads in Helmets (20 heads)
1x G-SOTR37 Zombie Bombs (4 models)
Four early paints and the completed horde pinned and prepped ready for priming:
Now things started to get interesting....
So I started to have a look around at vehicles, (usuall scale worries as everyone has) went with the Corgi 1/50 range and ordered:
CC60407 M3A1 HALF TRACK - US ARMY 331st INFANTRY
US60509 TIGER 1 TANK - EASTERN FRONT - WHITMAN (DE-CERTIFIED)
CC51014 M4 SHERMAN TANK US MARINE CORPS GUAM
Attention then turned to the new figures....
I'd already undercoated and started painting my first five, so called a halt on them so I can get the other 24 up to the same position and start a massive block painting production line, (Horroric memories of painting 60 Urk-hai over one christmas a few years ago still haunt me! ).
Drilled, pinned and filed the zeds together, also did the grenadiers too.
(Pic to follow)
US60509 TIGER 1 TANK - EASTERN FRONT - WHITMAN (DE-CERTIFIED)
The Tiger Tank was very nicely, (simply) painted and very usable straight from the box... however I wanted something a little more detailed.
(Stock photo).
So I removed all the stowage, equipment tools and weapons and detailed the tank using a mixture of inks and washes, then drybrushing and weathering techniques.
Then attention turned to the equipment, cleaned, sanded, painted back then painted up the cabling, tools etc. Tools and equipment moulded to the tank were picked out in black then painted gunmetal and washed, highlighted.
(Mid way through refit)
All the equipment was then remounted on the tank, it'll get a dull-coat later today as its bright and sunny.
So that's where we are at present, hoping the rule book turns up today, need to see where I'm going with these two armies.
Next up:
Pig Iron Kolony: Mecha-grenadier
Artizan officers
Nothing doing on these guys since Christmas 2007! Oops better get them painted now eh?
To follow:
Hellboy: beginnings
E4M us armoured suits
Warzone Bahaus mechs
Warzone: Ubersoldat!
Cheers for now.
