New Cold War / Modern AARs
« on: May 16, 2015, 09:01:36 AM »
We've been busy testing the new set of modern rules to be released in a couple of months. Here are some AARs from a variety of settings:

Some nicely varied scenarios there, nice to see some Chinese units in action for a change.

I noticed many vehicles in the AARs that are not in my downloaded datasheets, not to mention helicopters.

Is there any chance you could either update the data sheets or publish the data for the 'missing' items of kit and possibly also the helo rules?

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

Looking forward to the rules.

Will they have rules for helo and amphibious assaults?

Given the South China Sea situation, and the Senkakus, those seem to be likely future flashpoints using forces like that.

Hi Julesav,

I've just responded to your e-mail as well.

Yes we will be doing that. Getting the full rules finished is taking up all available time, but should be done by the end of June in time for a mid-July release. Once complete we'll be adding to the datasheets which will all be put on the website; there'll be master datasheets - for completeness - and one for each piece of equipment - for ease of use - all done by nation. That will take some time to complete so we'll update it regularly - probably weekly - ongoing.

We'll also be redrafting the intro rules to bring them into line with the full set as the basic system has been improved.

In short, it's all coming, just need a few more hours in each day!

Hi Mako,

Yes it will be comprehensive. A major aim is that  all of the flashpoints can be covered.

Thanks

Ah that's good news! Please keep us posted on progress.

I also wondered what base sizes you were using for infantry teams etc?

The groups on the AARs are 3cm x 2cm for 6mm and 3cm x 3cm for 15mm. We might recommend basing but it will be up to the players so that figures for FoW Vietnam or AK47 for example could be used.
