The Victorian Outpost

Its a new gaming place in Grimsby with new terrain and new scenery, lots of respect for all wargamers and is the best place to game in town.

Anybody who wishes to visit the venue to arrange a game then  just pm me and lets roll those dice.

Back in the day there were two car games set in the future.

The high tech Car Wars by Steve Jackson Games and the low tech Battle Cars by Games Workshop. The latter had a distinct mad max post apocalyptic feel and if you can find a set is possibly what you're looking for.

Started to write this out, and suddenly remembered most are geared for 'on the road.' None of these will be exactly what you seek. But worth a look.

Recently on OneBookShelf (RPGNow,WargameVault, etc.) there's Outrider, pretty close. Most games, including GW's Dark Future, also a possibility, were designed around Matchbox/Hot Wheels sized cars.

I've even seen Thunder Road board game converted to larger tabletop.

I've got that game, very simple but easily converted to a tabletop game - uses two boards placed end to end that 'leapfrog' each other, so as the lead car leaves the end of the last board the first is cleared and placed in front of it to give an endless road.

The old display game (with the tanker) featured a non-moving raod section with everything tied in to relative speeds.
If the tanker moved at speed 7 it stayed still in the middle of the board, anything moving faster than 7 moved forward, anything moving slower moved back.
Any vehicle exiting the table (forward or back) is removed.
Of course the truck can change speed, and move sideways, but that's part of the fun.
We played locally and added in wrecks and obstacles that appeared randomly in the road ahead (and obviously moved along the table at the same speed as the tanker).
All vehicles were numbered and followed in sequence. If someone had already moved into your space, you collided. Collisions usually took far more casualties than combat.

I do not own, nor have I ever played, Machinas from Two Hour Wargames, but... the cars created for the game by Carmen [click on the name to see some examples] certainly make it look really cool. :D I'm sure someone here will have some information or an opinion or two about the game.

I plan to use the Judge Dredd rules. Might look through my Warlands book from Aberrant to modify or add flavor or fun mechanics

Wastelands 3: Meltdown has some pretty good vehicle rules and has a Race scenario in the rulebook that's quite fun. Best of all it's free.  :D

Axles and Alloys is great fun!  Just Google it.  Free too!  Uses Hot Wheels.

Crikies, I knew there was one I'd heard of with great interest but never even read. Thanks for the reminder!
