True Grit - UPDATED - September 2017 New posse
« on: May 30, 2015, 11:19:40 AM »
Howdy, pardners. I've been working through the lead pile and came across some Artizan varmints which has kick started my love of all things western:

There's a couple of more shots on my blog - http://critfailure.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/true-grit.html - but I'll add to this thread as I finish off more.

Thanks chaps. Working on a few more - the biggest shock is how rarely Wild Bill in Deadwood wears dark colours. Lots of greens and browns. I am massively impressed with the Artizan sculpts. I'm going to have to treat myself to some more.

I've bought myself some rules and spent a bit of time with my friendly local laser cutter to produce this:

Some more details on the blog here: http://critfailure.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/a-fistful-of-wood.html

And some work in progress shots of some more cowboys if you can't wait for the finished articles I'll post at the weekend can be found here http://critfailure.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/i-your-huckleberry.html

Howdy. The latest cowpoke to mosey into town is an ill lookin' hombre packing a shotgun and a deck of cards:

The other men who came with him - the famous Wild Bill and a man o' the cloth - can be seen here: http://critfailure.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/weekend-painting.html

Nice work. The Artizan figures are great, I've got those guys undercoated and in the painting queue now. I'm just painting some Artizan Pinkertons. Is the Rooster Cogburn from Crusader?

I've had a game of Fistful of Lead and it was great fun. It's fast and easy to pick up.

I swear, I though ole Rooster was from Artizan as well. Now you've said that, I dunno where he came from...!

Looks like it to me as well.

Yup, that's the man with grit. I'm currently working on the mounted one as a 75th birthday present for my Mam as it's her favourite film.
