This thread keeps giving and giving :) Your creativity is astounding.

How is the vault exploration team from the other thread going?

Many thanks for the encouragement!

The vault team is still pretty much where I left it in the other thread.

I will return to it but I am running hot on Junktown now so I'm going to stick with it for a bit. My problem is it is now growing faster than the board on which to put it. In the words of Chief Brody from Jaws 'We're gonna need a bigger board'

It's not big, or clever, but let's do it anyway

Agreed.

I just had to go back and reread your excellent Ghoul thread from last year where you explain how you achieve such wonderful rusty goodness!

Thanks for taking the time to explain it all so clearly.  8)

Ooooh I forgot about that one, thanks for dredging it up! Still love that watertower house.  :)

I was gonna shamelessly beg Clanmac for a tutorial or some how-to-hints, but had the good sense to run a search of his posts first...  ;)

I'm a big fan of the sponge technique right now, but hairspray / salt chipping sure is pretty!

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Best of all, you can get an even quicker version by just using the hairspray and overpainting with acrylics. Then a little bit of rubbing with a brush or sponge will get you almost the same effect, without all that salt. Worth a try.

Just read through this whole thread. AMAZING!
I'm particularly impressed by your larger pieces.  You're combining of smaller sections into larger pieces and use of aircraft is really clever.

Many thanks all for the continued kind comments. Definitely fires me up to keep producing.

Back to one of my earlier Scrapyard machines. The Hughes Corporation Recycl-O-Matic. Stick junk and scrap in and one end and inside the box all of the useful components and raw materials are separated out for re-use. Of course it has had to be bodged over the years to keep it working, hence various bolt-ons including a new control unit on the roof.

Pretty happy with it although the recycl-o-matic decals did't work brilliantly, despite decal fix and varnish over the top.

That's some amazing, inspirational terrain! I feel I need to stare at each piece for a while to see all the extra wee details you've put in all your terrain pieces! o_o  :-*

Awesome!
Do you happen to have a pre-paint picture of that?  I'd love to see what bits went into it.

Sadly not, no. I've started taking pre-paint pics now but didn't for this one. The base of it is a Playmobil fire trailer, plus bits of an Optimus Prime transformer and lots of small resin and plastic model bits.

Basically as my kids abandon their toys, I turn them into stuff. Same story for Mr J's house.

Thanks, that actually explains quite a bit. I build my terrain the same way, but my kids are little so I get my broken toys from the thrift shop.
