(COMMERCIAL) Rising From The Ashes!- "New" Model Shop For Glasgow! UPDATE!!!

Following the sad demise of Glasgow institution Jamieson's Models last month, Ian Scott has picked up the banner and is due to start trading this summer. Location of the shop yet to be announced, but updates can be found on the page below (it's public, so you don't need a Faceplant account to see it).

Definitely good news for the modelling/gaming community in Glasgow (and probably Scotland as a whole), as bricks and mortar "proper" model shops are an ever shrinking rarity up here.

My panic regarding the local availability of Humbrol enamels has been somewhat quelled for the time being...

Sadly, as you certainly know he passed away a few years ago.

Chaps, with regards to opening dates, location, etc, I must point out I am in no way affiliated with the shop, I'm just sharing the news in the hope that sufficient interest and awareness can be drummed up in order to make this viable; so I'm afraid you'll just need to keep your eyes peeled on the links above 

If you do have Facebook, then "liking" their page should allow you to see updates in your news feed, which I'm sure would include details of those points when they become available...

Sad to hear of the demise of Jamiesons, a wee emporium of models and so handily placed along the road from Static and the erratic, eclectic Dragon & George!

But great news that new shop will rise from the ashes. Hopefully in the same part of town too!!

I have heard that the dragon and George is going as well something to do with a price increase for the buildings in the area. So I doubt a new shop will be in the same area

Was the Dragon and George the one with the wispy grey haired fellow who used to chat for hours about role playing games? I'm sure he also used to have the odd fag in the shop, though that's going back to the early 90s.

I don't mean this in a bad way , but I'm stunned he's still alive! I whiled many an hour in there just chatting. I used to pick up odds and ends in there all the time.
